About Us…

I’ve judged the Senior Portfolio and Animation tracks for the Scholastic Art and Writing Contest, and worked with students to submit successful portfolios for some of the most renowned art colleges in the country: RISD, NYU Tisch, MICA, VCUArts, and the like. My focus when working with students is to encourage them to not only pursue their art but to consider the business and careers available to them as well.

I founded ARTriculate to help creative students find and gain admission to their best possible schools. Finding solutions is my strength, and every student I work with benefits from that skill set as I guide their college search and application submission.

I help my students take their essays and supplemental materials from good to great. Proof of my success lies in the fact that that many of my students have received scholarships ranging from $25,000 to $40,000 per year, as they showcase their creativity and passion throughout the application process.

I received a BA in Philosophy at Haverford College with a minor in Art History from Bryn Mawr College. After over 20 years in the consulting world, designing and implementing technical solutions for clients in the healthcare and social services arenas, I decided to use my business acumen to ensure that students consider the return on investment of college as well as their future career goals as they embark on their college journey.

I’ve worked with thousands of students, many of whom have gone to attend to the most prestigious schools in the nation. I’ve presented extensively around the world on college admissions and essay writing and have been featured in U.S. News & World Report.

I am the founder and president of Turner Educational Advising, an educational consulting firm specializing in college and law school admissions and professional development.  I also served as the Senior Manager of Pre-Law and Professional Development Programs at Georgetown University in Washington, DC for almost a decade.

As an attorney with private practice and in-house experience, I received my JD from Boston University School of Law, where I was a Paul J. Liacos Scholar. I received my BA in History from the University of Pennsylvania, and was a member of Penn’s Alumni Interview Committee for more than 15 years.  I have presented extensively - both nationally and internationally - on the topics of admissions advising, essay writing and professional development. In fact, I have given more than 100 presentations on the topic of essay writing alone! I am a professional member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association and member of the Current Trends - Future Issues Committee of the Potomac & Chesapeake Association for College Admissions Counseling.
